Not my caring parents.

Not my loving partner.

Later on, it won’t be my children either.

And certainly not my friends, clients, or superiors.

„But that’s quite selfish, isn’t it?“

„If everyone thought this way, we would live in a terrible, incurable world.“

On the contrary.

When you put other people above yourself, you — and the others — often pay a high price:

A dependency, characterized by fear of loss,

a constant need for appreciation and

at worst, the limitations of your own worldview.

All of this culminates in a permanently existing dissatisfaction.

This dissatisfaction is then projected — usually unintentionally — onto your environment, causing damage.

When you are angry, the next person has to take the heat.

When you are sad, the next person has to suffer with you.

When you are fearful, the next person has to restrict themselves.

And the next person is usually the one who is…
